Freedom School CHAMP

Children Achieving Maximum Potential

For 9th-12th grade youth who want to mentor and read to children and help them reach their maximum potential in mind, body, and spirit. Contact: Jason at 704.295.4837 or jason@mpumc.org.

The mission of Freedom School CHAMP is to help elementary-age children at Dilworth Elementary Latta Campus achieve their maximum potential in mind, body, and spirit. It provides an atmosphere where 9th-12th graders (mentors) and 1st-5th graders can develop mutually caring relationships.

Please complete the form below to become a Freedom School CHAMP Mentor. Even if you were a mentor last year you need to submit a new application. Please apply now even if you can only do 2nd semester.

Filling out this application does not guarantee you a spot, Jason Rhymer or the Leadership Team will contact you if you are accepted.

Dilworth Latta CHAMP is a commitment for every Monday afternoon from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Myers Park United Methodist Church. Two Mondays will involve riding the church vans home with the students, so you will need to be available until 6:15pm on those days. You can sign-up for the van date of your choice at training. If selected to be a mentor, you must attend the CHAMP training meeting on Monday, September 12th from 4:00 pm to 4:45 pm at MPUMC.
